Microsoft Security Updates

Recent Microsoft Security Updates have impacted how Internet Information Services functions with ComplianceOne on Windows 2003 Servers.

Problem:

  1. Errors occur when publishing organizations in ComplianceOne Administration.
  2. HTTP Post error occurs when printing documents.

Resolution:


Windows Server 2003:

  1. From the Start menu, select Run.
  2. Type inetmgr and click OK.
  3. At the top level, right click on the local computer name and select properties.
  4. Check the Enable Direct Metabase Edit checkbox and click OK.
  5. Expand the local computer.
  6. Select the Web Service Extensions folder.
  7. In the right side panel, select ASP.NET v4.0.30319.
  8. Select the Allow button.
  9. At the top level, right click on the local computer name again and select properties.
  10. Uncheck the Enable Direct Metabase Edit checkbox and click OK.
  11. Close Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  12. From the Start menu, select Run.
  13. Type IISRESET and click OK.

Log back in to ComplianceOne Administration and select Publish.
Remember to exit ComplianceOne Lending and Deposit and log back in for any changes to take affect.


Windows Server 2008:

At this time we are not aware of any security updates impacting Windows Server 2008. If the above problems occur on Windows Server 2008, follow the steps below.

  1. From the Start menu, select Run.
  2. Type inetmgr and click OK.
  3. Click the server icon that has the server name (right below Start Page)
  4. Look in the IIS section and find ISAPI and CGI Restrictions. (You may have to click Features View at the bottom of the page if you this option is not displayed.)
  5. Right-click each ASP.NET v4 option and select Allow.
  6. Close Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  7. From the Start menu, select Run.
  8. Type IISRESET and click OK.

Log back in to ComplianceOne Administration and select Publish.
Remember to exit ComplianceOne Lending and Deposit and log back in for any changes to take affect.
