Important Information for Our Customers and Microsoft SQL Server 2000

Microsoft released Service Pack 4 (SP4) for SQL Server 2000 and has passed initial testing with ARTA Deposit version 5.0 and Rembrandt version 8.1.

If you are considering installing this service pack to your systems, it is important that you do your own testing to be certain backup software and / or other applications continue to function correctly after SP4 has been installed. SQL Server 2000 SP4 cannot be easily removed from a system therefore it is important to perform a full system backup prior to installing the service pack to allow you to return your system to a pre-service pack state (if needed).

Also note that ARTA Deposit and Rembrandt require SQL Server 2000 network protocols enabled. If you install SQL Server 2000 SP4, please do not disable network protocols for ARTA Deposit or Rembrandt Network installations.

A full regression test of the ARTA Deposit and Rembrandt software with SQL Server 2000 SP4 will be completed with the next release of each program.

Please Note:  Beginning with ARTA Deposit version 6.0 and Rembrandt version 10.0 MSDE users will be updated to Microsoft SQL 2005 Express Edition.
